WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT CAMP ISLAND?
Camp Island is your very own private island located in the northern Whitsundays in Queensland’s world heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef marine park. The area is known for its white coral, beautiful shells and sandy beaches and has Cape Upstart National Park as its stunning backdrop .
Come and experience Camp Island which is a unique Queensland tourist destination for families, groups of friends and corporate getaways. You will have exclusive access to the island and its facilities.
With as much or as little as you'd like to do, generations of visitors will build their own Camp Island experience with memories that will last a lifetime.
HOW IT WORKS
You will have exclusive use of Camp Island throughout your stay. The property has a well equipped kitchen for self catering or with advanced notice we can order and pick up groceries and provisions for you.
HOW TO GET HERE
Camp Island is the second most northerly island in the Whitsundays group located 3 km off shore from Elliot River in Abbot Bay, 10 km south of Cape Upstart. Access is via Elliot River near Guthalungra.
Located 50 km north of Bowen and 120 km south of Townsville, Camp Island Lodge is accessible by helicopter in under 30 minutes from Hamilton Island and Proserpine or 45 minutes from Townsville airport. Alternatively a 90 min private bus transfer can be organised from Proserpine or Townsville airports to Elliot River where you will be transferred by one of our resort boats to the Island.

THE GUEST LODGE
The Lodge is the centre piece of the Camp Island accommodation. It includes a luxuriously appointed lounge, dining areas and outdoor living spaces. There are extensive covered timber verandas where one can dine, relax and take in the spell binding moods Abbot Bay has to offer.
Four spacious cabins, nestled just metres from the ocean. All cabins have an ensuite bathroom, large french doors with screens, ample built in storage, ceiling fans and are connected by undercover walkways to a main dining/living/kitchen area.
Four spacious villa are nestled just metres from the ocean. They are hardwood timber-clad construction with metal roofs in the ‘Queenslander' style, silky oak door frames and polished timber floors
All suites can be configured as King or twin share. They each have an ensuite bathroom, large french doors with screens, ample built in storage and Haiku ceiling fans. Each villa is connected by an undercover walkway to the Lodge for dining, living and kitchen areas.
PLENTY TO DO
Let us package a plan to take the hassle out of organising. All our guests need to do is organise their flights and we can look after the rest. We engage local operators to provide a range of services including local transfers, provisioning and catering and packages including your own private chef, fishing and dive guides and all types of tours.
SNORKEL & DIVE
Snorkel and dive the local reefs to see an amazing array of corals and fish or take a day trip out to Old Reef, part of the Great Barrier Reef.
Charter a local fishing guide to some of the best fishing grounds in Queensland. Casting lures for the Barra and Mangrove, reef fishing for trout, emperor and trevally and chasing the pelagics anywhere from Abbot Bay to the nearby Great Barrier Reef.
Take one of our kayaks or surf skis to explore the Island and surrounding Abbot Bay. Jet skis are also available for appropriately licensed guests. Leave plenty of space for the whales passing through in the winter and spring .
Explore the local coves and beaches around Cape Upstart in one of our resort vessels. Take a BBQ lunch, seafood and an esky full of beer for a traditional Queensland lunch followed by a game of beach cricket at low tide.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system covering 350,000 sq. km and stretching 2,300 along the Queensland coast. It hosts more than one third of the world's coral species, 1500 species of fish, six of the world's seven species of marine turtle and 30 species of whales and dolphins.
Camp Island Lodge offers guests the amazing opportunity to get up close and experience the reef first hand. Located only 40 miles to the east of Camp Island, guests can plan a visit to the reef to fish, snorkel or dive. Explore the magic of the reef - a truly unique experience you will never forget.
Available seasonally, guests may have the opportunity to stay on board South Pacific 2, a 72 foot mother ship, where they can watch the sunset and sunrise over the reef in one of the world's most beautiful locations.

As a special introductory offer, we are offering exclusive access to Camp Island for $1,500 per night. Camp Island sleeps a maximum of eight adults ensuring a peaceful and private escape from the busyness of life

All payments are non-refundable. However, bookings are transferable within a 12 month period, providing that the alteration is made more than 30 days prior to arrival date. No alterations or changes can be made less than 30 days prior to arrival date.
